Das wohl deutlichste Kennzeichen der goldhдhnchen- bis fasangrossen Papageienvцgel ist der krumme Schnabel. Der Oberschnabel ist um sein eigenes Gelenk auch nach oben drehbar und hat auf der Unterseite meist harte Querleisten. Die Schnabelwurzel und die Nasenlцcher sind von einer breiten, oftmals gefiederten Wachshaut umgeben. Der Schnabel dient auch als zusдtzliche Hilfe beim Klettern. [deu] |
