Ernest Thompson Seton
Burroughs Award-winning author Ernest Thompson Seton was born on August 14, 1860, in South Shields, Durham, England. His parents wanted him to be an artist and he trained diligently for that career. However, from his youth he was also fascinated by natural history. He learned the ways of the natural world in his explorations of the Canadian prairie. He found a way to combine his interests and his talents in his life and career as an illustrator, naturalist, writer, and educator. [eng]
